good composition
this is obviously a photogenic spot and, as you say, you will not be the first or last to shoot this. Even the wikipedia article on Denali uses the same viewpoint |

Wow, I am so excited by this placing! (and so close to a ribbon, too!) Thanks everyone for the great comments (and scores).
Have to say really quickly that I was dismayed to find out that my photo appears to be almost an exact copy of a previous winner from 2004. My challenge entry history will show that I was inactive on DPC at that time, so I had no idea that photo existed. All I can say is that I would never intentionally copy anyone's work - I simply picked the best vacation photo for this challenge topic. This photo was taken from a popular stop on the Denali park highway - I'm certainly not the first person to get a shot from this vantage, nor will I be the last, lol. :^)
Thanks again, this is incredibly exciting for me. |

Perfect image for this project. You've done an excellent job of leading our gaze out to the majestic snow covered mountain. This is sure to do well. |

Very good view point. Fits the challenge perfectly. Suffers a little from the fact that it is the excact same as one of DPC challenges top shots which is better processed (//www.dpchallenge.com/image.php?IMAGE_ID=96222). Mount McKinley is to bright and to low contrast. Deacreasing levels on highlights would help alot. |

Boy that took a lot of nerve :-) Actually copying precisely the viewpoint of one of DPC's most-favorited pictures of all time. Plus, of course. just to SEE Denali so clearly is extraordinarily rare... It's a pleasant shot, but I wish the road stood out better... |

I thought Denali was more than a mere hillock. Well, it does look lumpy but not dangerous. I expect it is the otherside everyone gets to fall down, right. Nice image, BTW. 9. |

Wow! This is winner again. In Aug. 2004 a similar photo with same title won the blue ribbon. Hope you win the blue. 10 |

i love the clarity of the snow capped peak in the distance. it really gives a sense of the road cutting into unmarked territory. |
