First Impressions: Nice job of making an common thing more interesting.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Composition: This photo is all about the composition. It takes a very ordinary situation and composes it in a way that makes a bland experience interesting.
Subject: Subject is a weathered lock on a rusty blue background. But it has been placed nicely. The one suggestion would have been to center the lock's U a tiny bit as it rests in the hole.
Technical (Colour, focus, and light): Focus is very good with a nice depth of field. Color's are not all that appealing. I might have gone with a B&W conversion on this one. Or post-process with a grunge feel. I think this shot would take nicely to such processing.
Creativity: Simple creative insight into an ordinary subject.
-------------------------------------------------------------
To improve?: See above comments.
Summary: My last critique for the night. Nice job. This won't be a ribbon, as it's derived from such commonality. But it you've taken it and molded it to be much much more than it stood to appear. Nice work.

nice color, lines, but focus poor at bottom.
even if this is what you wanted it distracts an otherwise good subject |
