Greetings from the Critique Club!
First of all congratulations on your second highest scoring image :o)
Composition:
I really like your composition, the 'ball' and hand are placed nicely in the frame and the lines of 'electricity' have worked with you well here! The only thing I may have been tempted to change is in the bottom right handside you can see what appears to be the base of the 'ball' and for me the image would be even better if you cropped this out.
Technicals:
This is very well exposed with no blown out parts on the lights in the 'ball'. The lighting on the top of the hand is nice as is the blue lighting underneath and you have captured some good detail in the hand.
My personal thought:
This challenge featured a few shots using a similar prop and I feel that this maybe why your shot didn't score better.
If you've got any questions about this critique, please feel free to contact me via the PM system.
- Natalya :o)

Many of these shots, 5 and counting, not done voting. This is one of the better ones, I'd say ... but as for the other shots, what impact have these lamps had, other than their looks?
Good luck, anyway! |

Nice shot. I like the tight composition and the exposure is right on the money. The light on the underside of the palm and fingers is great and shows some nice texture on the hands. Good job and good luck! |

nice visual but the device is a novelty and so the photo fails to advance the challenge theme of societal or environmental effects. |

Another one! The best so far, I think, in purely technical terms. It's hard to see beyone the purely technical in shots of these things anymore. |

Pretty cool, nice and sharp, wish it were a little bit bigger. |

Very good picture. I would recomend too use the all the 640 pixels in future challenges. It makes a big diffrence. |

How does this show electricity affecting society or our environment in a negative or positive way? |
