A great shot John. I love the splitting of the frame and the wonderful processing to bring out every bit of detail in the sand. |

I second that. While 6th is a fantastic finish, I can't believe it didn't finish in top 3. Of course I saw some of the other voting and couldn't believe how some pics got voted above others. Everyone has an opinion I guess. |

8 - Excellent colors, textures and patterns. At first look I thought this needed a slight nudge rotate up on the right, but on looking again it seems fine. The only few (and minor) things were what appears to be feint footprints in the sand and the very bottom left corner 'triangle', but again - minor. Good color/contrast control, also like the darker shaded cloud in the distance, which likely cannot be appreciated at this size. edit:to add comments

Wow! Look at that DoF... must've had the lens stopped down as far as it could go and then some :-) Very good work! |

I love the ripples and hills and the detail in the sky adds a lot to this image. I think the polarization is just a touch over the top for my taste. Maybe this was at high altitude. Just a little more detail in the sand area would have made this a tremendous image. As is, it's just excellent! |

Interesting textures, I like shots like this. Without question the shot is well done as it is, but perhaps it could be even more empressive, when you wait until the sun gets lower. This accentuates the rills in the sand even more due to the stronger shadows. Good luck for the challenge! |

There is just something hypnotic about ripples in sand. Love it. I think the sky is a bit too saturated. Overall, good work! |

Very beautiful, the blue in the sky is so deep and rich. The texutre in the dune is very nice as well. |

No pun intended, but this is a bit grany at the bottom. Nice job otherwise. |

Wonderful colors in the sky! I would like the sand closest to the camera to be a little sharper. Also, it looks like foot prints in the sand about halfway up the picture as well as a dark cloud or something in the sky directly above the sand on the right which are both distracting, but overall I love the composition. 8 |

I like the image a lot, I wish the sand had more contrast in it to bring out the lines more. |
