Shot during a one-hour flight delay, Portland International Airport. Hand-held, no tripods allowed.
Processed from RAW, totally uncropped, nearly straight from camera; hue/sat to slightly push the blue and take a cyan tint out of the shadow areas, resize, USM, border and save for web.

Oregon seems to be good for challenges :-) Two entries from my trip, finished 15th and 16th...
Regarding comments about the luminosity of this, or lack of same, I had to process and enter this shot on the heels of my long journey, had very little time and I was dog-tired. I couldn't easily make it do what I wanted. I may take a stab at reprocessing it tomorrow. |

Very nice, congrats on top 20. Good thing security didn't jump you for taking pictures of the "structure" of the airport. I was in O'Hare with 2 hours to spare and was afraid to take pictures of the nice ceilings of the United terminal after my JFK incident. I did fortunately get up the nerve in the connecting tunnels (my Purple shot), but even then, I was expecting to be jumped by a security guy any moment. |

Beautiful entry and congrats on the top 20 finish back to back. A rare moment in Oregon weather: blue sky! |

I'm amazed at how "balanced" this photo is!
The main subject, unquestionably is the ceiling with all the strong geometrical lines, but what also fancied me a lot is the little signs at the bottom of your shot - nice.
Congrats on the top 20 placement!

A little more contrast to make this "pop" more would help it's initial impact in my opinion. |
