This shot was taken hand held at the Spruce Meadows Masters event just south of Calgary. I chose to go tritone as the color was overabundant and quite distracting. I was rather fortunate to get this guy as clearly as I did and I am pleased with the detail ...... minus the rear hoofs. I figure since it is a horse, it could do well. Fuzzy things do well here as this site seems to embrace wholesome animal photos, less a border. This shot seems to embody that theme but..... I had to have my border!!!! Mwuhhhaaaahahhahaahaaa (Ivol laugh)

Great capture. I like the desat, and the background really compliments the subject.

8 - Good capture. Like the crowd capture as well. Toning works very well. Just wish there was a bit more definition/contrast 'lifting' and defining the horse/equine and rider more, making them 'jump out the image' - but difficult.

Lovely action shot. The horse looks to be done in slightly different tones than the background.

Good focus, but the horse and rider blend too much with the crowd.

Fantastic capture. Really like the fact that you have the crowd in the background as well. Bumping up.

wonderful action image...great as a b and w...I would have blurred the people in the bg out a little which is legal in advanced rules

more burning on the crowd to make the subject pop would be my suggestion to make the stronger - shockingly sharp

Great stop action photo The DOF is perfect, seperates the subject from bakcground, yet still gives context. Well done!
