This was taken in overcast conditions at a state park near the OK/AR border. Editing was basic: only hue/saturation and levels/contrast, USM. I cloned out some twigs at the bottom of the frame and resized.

Post challenge: Ouch. I hope to return to this beautiful scene someday and do it justice.

Critique Club Review:

The long exposure has resulted in some unwanted effects. The leaves on the tree must have been moving, and so look out of focus. I'm guessing this because rocks closer and further away are sharp.

There is a lot going on in this picture, actually a bit too much.

I'd like the picture better if the foreground tree on the left were gone.

Color, saturation, hue, and brightness are OK. Contrast is a bit low.

The cave on the left third of the picture would work better if contrast were uppped a bit, to render the void black. As it, it looks like a photo with some sort of film on it. There is no detail in the cave, just a bluish haze or film.

I would like to see this picture with more contrast and a bit sharper exposure. Could make a nice calendar scene.

I like how the sunlight is streaming down to the water. I think this could be emphasized more by darkening the left half of the photo.

Here is a case where there is too much in the photo. Your main point of interest should be the right side of the photograph. There is also a blue tint through out the photograph. Maybe a little shorter exposure next time, as to not make the falls completely silked. Running water is tricky. Hopefully you live around this wonderful place and can attempt it again.

Looks like a beautiful place. Unfortunately, the focus looks a little off or the camera had some shake during the long exposure. I do like the effect of the long exposure on the water falls. The almost look like streams of light instead of water.

hmm, could use more focus..or is it image quality that is lacking? I like the blue water steams on the right though.
