Went up to a hill overlooking the valley where I live, intending to check out the view from the small stone monument you can see at the mid left of shot, but was met by these hungry bullocks (young bulls with their 'bull'ness removed)
They were hemmed in by the fence, and formed a very pleasing wedge shape as they jostled for my feeding attention.
The sun was setting at the top left of frame at the time, so it was shining almost right into the lens, which reduced contrast a fair bit. I had a grad filter with me, but of course it didn't even occur to me to put it on.
I had to do a lot of rescuing on a pretty poor shot to get the look I wanted, which was a supersaturated, Microsoft grass kind of look (you know the screen savers pictures I mean).
I didn't really achieve what I wanted, the sky is rather odd looking, and the cows are under-exposed still. Hopefully I'll go back soon and shoot in the morning, when the sun would be shining towards the hill.

Cool photo. Imagine how it would look without the fence! It would be as though they had made a formation just to intimidate you.LOL I really like this, great shot. |
