Another shot of Norman the croc in action, standing on his tail, so as to be able to stand up, and out of the water, to capture his food.
The power and strength these prehistoric looking animals have in the water, is just amazing.
On land, they are as slow as can be.
I just love getting up close to them with my zoom lens, to see the wonderful textures they have.
The underbelly of the croc, is so creamy colored, with wonderful textures.
Something you don't always see.
This was taken at Australia Zoo, two days after we lost a wonderful ambassador, conservationist, hero, and most of all, a much loved family man.

Oh, my. What a cute little guy!
Of course I know it's really a powerful critter, but the markings
and the pose make it look almost - well - cuddly.

Just wondering how you managed to impose your sense of design on the zoo: almost the first thing I noticed was the near pattern match in fence and croc. A happy shot. |

As you say, wonderful colours and textures on their bodies!! Australia zoo looks like an amazing place to visit. When I stayed with friends in Perth a few years ago we visited a Crocodile 'zoo' in Fremantle (I think) that was pretty cool :o) |
