Was walking around a lake in daylesford (country town) whilst on holiday. Basically i stopped every 10 meters to setup tripod to take pics :P. My first proper candid shot too :D setup tripod behind them, took a few photos as inconspicuosly as one can with a tripod +DSLR... But i have to say, candid\'s are fun, and do give awesome photos.

In terms of this photo, i wish i could have combined multiple exposures, as i really wanted to get the sky in, but this was the best i could do in pp. I was initially planning to take a pic for rule of thirds, but when this came up, i couldn\'t resist... wish i could enter both :(

PP
- raw conversion - lots, the most i\'ve ever done, changed wb significantly to get more yellowy colour, then upped shadow value to get darker shadows, dropped brightness a bit too, and played with contrast a tiny bit
- crop
- HSL for a bit more pop in colours
- very slight level for bit darker foreground
- shadow highlight to try rein in the blown out sky
- resize+sharpen

What I learnt
- taking candid shots, and their value
- power of raw... was amazed how much could be achieved so easily, i always did raw conversions, but obviously i\'ll be using it a lot more now
- that pics saved as jpeg look different to what i see in photoshop... thats why i had to go back and make pic too dark in ps, so that jpeg looked good

A little too dark with the black band separating the photo. I would have cropped out the upper third.

Well done! Even the slightly over exposed sky adds a unique element to this image.

I like the concept, but I think it is not highlighted by the silhouettes.
