Hi Gary! You know, my English is not as good as it should be for taking part in DPC. Nevertheless I hope, that you do not misunderstand my comment! 1st: The model is beautiful, her hair is outstanding. 2nd: Your photo is nice, and I would be very proud of it, if it would be mine ;-). But you are playing in an other league and I don't think "wow" here (as by viewing at most of your other portraits!). IMHO the composition could be better and somehow I miss the "kiwistyle". Due to your viewpoint (position) her legs are a bit too accentuated and so they are competing against her beautiful face. In addition the black couch doesn't fit to a beauty-shot like this. |

This is soft and pretty but to me, the black leather couch takes away from the overall pastel sense of it. Maybe I'm just too picky. |

it's a nice shot but the black couch in the background in a distraction and doesn't meet the criteria, and I'm not sure red hair does either? |

I normally like to look at gorgeous girl pics. I feel the colors are a bit oversaturated, and I also find this entry in the pastel challenge is a bit of a stretch. BUT! Natasha is darn pretty! |

A beautiful image. The dark blue in the background throws it out of ballance a bit for me but really not a big issue... :)

the skin tone is amazing...the lusture makes it look almost as if it's shot on IR film..the composition, though not 10/10 is definitely good. 8/10. |

That is fantastic hair, but the leather couch is distracting. Perhaps draping some diaphonous pink cloth would have disguised it, and fitted more with the pastel theme, and the models skin tone.
The strongest features of the shot are the model's face, hair and the scoop of her arm. The legs for me are weaker though. While still keeping all the necessary bits hidden, If the model had extended her right leg slightly, so her calf wasn't squashed against her thigh, it would have had the same slim profile of her arm. I was going to suggest turning the left knee inwards a little, but come to think of it, as it is, the model looks like she is scrunching somewhat to fit into the frame. If the camera was moved up a small amount, so we could see air above the models head, we wouldn't have to worry about the pesky knee, because it would be out of shot.
Wow, I wrote a lot more than I meant to, but the model is so fantastically beautiful, I thought the shot deserved my full attention. I know I'm being picky, but I'm still giving this shot a 9. Hope you do well. :) |
