a white tailed deer eating on a path, I was hidden behind a bush, yet the deer could catch my scent and turned to look at me...I wanted the green of the plants blurred in the foreground to provide a frame for the image,( just making that point since there will be many adverse comments concerning this technique) levels, curves, channel mixer, brightness/contrast, hue/saturation, usm, crop so that the head lies exactly on one of the intersections of the rule of thirds grid.

At least it's daytime in this picture. The poor frightened animal doesn't have a "deer in the headlights look!" ;)

I know this was probably a quick capture, but the out of focus foliage in the foreground is a little distracting.
