one of my picks for best of the challenge - 77 is far too low -
what can we do to help the DPC crowd get over their aversion to beautiful, artistic grain?
the processing here is terrific too, great work. Go find a way to make money with this (shouldn't be that hard) and you'll feel TONS better about your 77 - I will too! |

I love the old feeling this shot gives me. At first look I had to wonder whether or not this was taken now or back in the 50's or 60's. Great work. |

I really enjoy this classic feel to this image. I think the pp style works very well. Just slight distraction in the lower right corner.. Very well done. |

Nice work adding noise. The noise works great in the photo. |

I think the "artificially-aged" technique works well with this subject -- nice to see another something in B&W too. |

Grainy, blurry .... but it works. Comes across as a real old action image. Well produced and I hope this does well for you. |

fantastic B&W!!! the only thing I can think of to improve this would be to clone out the bottom right triangle and go with the grainy road instead:-) great non the less!!! |

Except for the helmets, your photo seems to come from another time in an earlier era. The building behind fixes this race in the world. The splatter adds the dynamic element needed. Lovely work. |

Very. very cool shot & pp. The only thing that gives away that it is shot recently are the rollbars. The rains adds a nice extra dimension to it. Cool! |

This is superb!
The grainy look and the high-contrast post-processing took this to a different level.
One of my top picks and added as a favorite. |

I like the grain in this photo for it adds to a nostalgic feel. The slightly sepia tones also help to add to the nostalgic feel of days gone by with some good ol' fashioned racing derbys. Overall a good action shot. My only critique, small one at that, is that their seems to be a tad too much dark space/negative space seen at the top of the photo. |

brilliant post processing! the drawing effect of the background, which really feels like rain, is deeply impressive and is an excellent example of the tasteful and enhancing use of filters. the mono / duotone is also effective with the high contrast. it's a brilliantly composed action shot as well, conveying both the sense of speed and the excitement of the chase / race.
Really stirring stuff - 10. |

I like your image a lot, but I feel like the top border could have been cropped closer (top 3rd or so) so as to squeeze in tighter on the action and emphasize the lateral movement being captured. Other than that, very good shot. |

I really like this. Not the usual DPC shot. The grain works, the high contrast works. Love the sprays shooting up. Nice. |
