This is Linda Benediktsdottir, first time she models for me for DPC although I have taken lot´s of shots of her. She is an awesome model, probably the most promising I have ever shot. She is only 17 and shows some very promising talent.

Only lighting in this photo is that coming from that hole in the cealing, tried lighting it from below too but the photo just lost it´s charm that way and didn´t really work, afterwards I wish I had the sense at the time to go to the car and used a reflector to just barely light her but probably wouldn´t have mattered too much, I probably wouldn´t have been able to use it anyway since there was just me and Linda there and I would have needed an assistant to hold the reflector. Makeup as usually done by Henny, she couldn´t come along this time as we couldn´t get a babysitter to watch the kids.

Processing was somewhat much, probably one of the most processed images I have sent to this date to DPC. Cloned out 3 yellow lights and reflections coming from them in the dark area of the photo and another window in the cealing. Did some heavy shadow/higlights adjustment as the photo was way too dark. Then dodged/burned it a little, added the vignetting, curves and finally tried out smartsharpen for the first time when sharpening as the last step.

Oh and I could have submitted a splash shot or waterfall or something for a nice score, I don´t think this will score too well but I don´t really care, I really dig this image, all except for the lack of light on her legs... Anyway, my favorite shot in August that I hadn´t already submitted to a challenge.

Mate, It's hard to say you were robbed when you scored a 6.5 .... but you were. So there.

Very nice example of what can be done with lighting.
Visually appealing, details in the shadows to add dimension, and a good title to compliment it.

Cute image and concept, but personaly its not gritty enough. Or clean enough. Not exactly sure what your meaning is here, but for me it is not strong enough.

Great shot...8, edit to add...there's great contrast here. from her face to dark neck, to light upper chest. darkness of dress and background. long story short, great lighting.

This is obviously technically flawless. It radiates danger to me and is somehow disturbing (can't put my finger on it). So.... I figure that only damn good images evoke such emotion.... ;-)

Interesting shot, but I think it's over my head as far as the subtext goes. Maybe not...I mean, she's in a dirty, dark place, and it will be hard to get out, but she knows what she has to do. Too bad she's wearing heels...always hard to climb drain culverts in heels. Good luck.

Great idea and execution. The only thing that feel a bit odd for me is the sunglasses in her hand...

Great lighting. Superb symbolism, or analogy, or metaphor... whatever it is. This is a very memorable image. Love the contrast of this beauty in a very ugly place, with a way out, but no apparent way to reach the light. Brilliant photography! A "10" from me. Hope to see this as a ribbon winner.

I feel like there is an agent from the matrix ready to emerge from the shadows behind her. Very cool lighting and tonality.
