Nice picture of the baby and the gown, but I think this would have been better if he was in a chair, or on someone's lap, or lying on something that shows some depth. As it is, he looks like he's in free-fall. 8) |

Very cool keeping a family tradition/heirloom so well for so long -- it looks great. |

Nice tones and details here, but composition looks a bit odd, as though floating in space, with no foreground nor background. |

I like it but wish the face was more in focus instead of the bottom of the gown. |

nice exposure to bring out the detail here, not an easy job. |

A lovely gown and what a wonderful tradition to carry on! With the pure black background it appears as though the baby is floating or standing - neither of which seem quite natural. Not sure how else to do this, though. |

Cute baby. The photo is very nice. The baby's face seems to be a bit out of focus but it doesn't take away too much from the photo. All and all this is very good portrait. |

personally i feel the large quantities of black in the frame quite oppressive, and it leads to two other problems in that it gives the sprog no sort of dimensional plane (is he floating, suspended?) nor does it give him any sense of personality. the picture aslo looks like it has artefacts of some over sharpening, especially round the head. afilny, with the sprog looking away i feel totally detached freom the subject, and can't connect. 4. |

cute idea but the focus seems to be on the bottom of the gown and nto the face where i think it shoudl be even if you are tryign to show the gown to have the face blurred is disconcerting. 5 |

The head focus is too soft, compared to the bottom of the garment. Add choice of perspective and it almost looks like the subject is not the baby but something else... I don't find this one appealing for that reason. |

I would prefer if the baby was looking at the camera. also I am not a fan of how they appear to be floating. very nice setup for a baby portrait though. |

I wish the baby's features were crisper but I love the simplicity. The black background is perfect. |
