Critique Club Review:
I love this picture! It just really makes me want to laugh along with the horse.
Focus is good, but depth of field seems a bit shallow. Looks soft around the ears, not sure why. I like the lighting and color, I'm OK with the shadow on the face as it obviously comes from the horses hair.
A little darker sky would have helped the horse pop from the background.
If there were anything I would want differet, it would be for the horses eyes to be open. (You will mention that to the horse, won't you? ;-)

| noble and majestic creatures. spiritual some say. i always thought they were slightly mad in the head and suspected they were plotting things, and by thunder, you've captured the evidence completely. it's a hilarious image, superbly captured. i like the crop, composition, the nothing but skies background, and the lack of any post processed stylistic flourishes or pretentions is refreshing. a stonking image, and very entertaining. 9. |

| My, what a lovely smile you have! And a loud whinning laugh to go with it! Maybe this pony is not uttering a sound at all at the time of this capture but with your shot I actually *hear* a horse laugh. Wonderful capture of a candid moment of this animal. Love the rich tones on it's coat. My only critique is that I wish that the eyes were open. Not so easy to accomplish because a moment is all one sometimes gets so I am not dinging you for it but mearly expressing that it is a shame that the eyes could not be open at the moment of capture. |

It's a beautiful photo of the horse with the blue sky and the mane blowing in the wind and the focus is perfect, but the expression is priceless! What a capture! With the eyes closed like that it looks like the horse is laughing at all of us at DP Challange.

Composition: 6 - Nothing wrong here, just not the most intersting composition :)
Technical: 6 - Seems a little soft, and bringing up the highlights a bit more wouldnt hurt, but overall nicely done.
Creativity: 8 - GREAT! It really shows a lot of personality! :)
Appeal: 9 - Really funny shot :)

| Wow, how did you ever get this shot, what a cool picture. It almost looks not real. Only thing I find is the top right half of his face seems to have a little to much shadow, but I guess you couldn't ask him to move could you, lol. Anyway good luck hope you do well for this very amusing picture! |
