 Color Drops-brand ''Scarlet Shimmer'' nail polish being applied to a (fake) nail.

Shot with the Canon 100mm/2.8 Macro with Kenko 20mm extension tube. Lit with one of those halogen torchiere lamps bounced off the ceiling, with the adjustable reading lamp (on the side of the same lamp) set down low and to the left for "highlights".

This is about 85% of the full-frame image.

The background is a gradient I created in Photoshop being displayed on my computer monitor.

I don't know what is it but, the contrast colors are very good and the little white points give it the detail needed in the general composition.

The background works very well with the reddish nail polish. It really helps to push the brush and the nail out of the picture. Wow. I could see the layering on the nail itself. Beautiful glitter in the polish. Greeat closeup.

It took me a minute to figure out what this was. I love the flecks of glitter that show up on the polish. Nice composition, lighting and striking colors. Good job.
