.....This is my first entry with the 5D. Bout time I got an SLR. :-)
The above was posted by Joey in Aug of 2006. Less than 2 years later he was shooting the poster for a major movie using a Hasselblad. I am happy I got his autographed photoshop DVD when he was charging only $25 or so for it :-) |

5d, 4D 1D...2 megapixel k-mart camera....I don't think it would have mattered what you used for this shot. Lighting, set-up and post processing was the key.
How you get the color/dodge/burn effect on the jeans, rag and dirt on shirt and feet in basic editing is beyond my knowledge of editing in Photoshop.
Good Job. |

So I guess I should see "Saw" then? If it's got some moral and mental aspects. I don't find pure "horror/gore" to be that interesting. Much prefer the mental thrillers (I tend to enjoy Night M. Shaylaman's films).

LOL. I wondered about if the gross factor would prevent it from winning but I guess not. Now I will have to bookmark another page for a week. Come to think of it that's not so bad since Joey will have to see it on his front page for quite a bit longer. :P

gotta be Joey Lawrence...congrats on the blue ribbon in advance...you've got it in the bag...10 for creativity, 10 for originality, 10 for effort, 10 for composition, 10 for the photography, 10 for the edit, 10 for the expression, 10 for finding the props to pull this off, 10 for the dirty feet that look dead with gangrene, 10 for being one of the best photographers here...that makes 100

I never saw (get it, saw?) the movie, but I did see previews, and I think you have really captured it here. The flat lighting and the muted colors really make the shot. |

Joey? Fantastic, cruel shot! So much pain and drama in here. The blood looks so realistic I wonder if the leg was really hurt. This one will ribbon! Don't know if it's blue because many folks here don't like controversial shots but I'll keep my fingers crossed! 10 |

nice processing, and shows how much can be done through basic. must be shot with some sort of high-end cam, like a pricey canon or something. |
