 Shot in our main bathroom with all the overhead spot lamps switched on, used canon 430ex flash pointed directly upwards to bounce off the ceiling to light the top of the models hand which was lightly brushed with olive oil to give the appearance of being wet (Hand may have dried if using water through the shoot)

RAW to JPG conversion done in RawShooter 2006 Premium:
Levels Adjustment
Temp and slight Tint Amend

Straightened

Edited in Adobe Photoshop CS2 with the following settings:
Levels Tweak
Difuse Glow
Brightness +1 Contrast -1
Curves Adjustment
Cropped part of the bottom out to help with rule of thirds
Resized to 640x416
Sharpen
Saved for Web at 100 Setting to 68kb

Hey Michael,
Congrats on top 10 finish. I like this picture. It is well taken. The lighting is just great. The composition is good. I really like the wet hand. There is nothing that I see that could have been better. Maby in high contrast bw? Good luck in future challenges.

This is making my choice for the Blue ribbon tough.. I've given another photo my vote for confidence... sigh.. This probrably be my second choice for the blue... a 10 for me..

i've never actually seen the film, but the picture is strongly reminiscent of the poster campaign, which i would assume is taken from a defining moment in the film. it's a really simple set up, but fantastically done - the whiteness of the shot really working. the only slight criticism is that the hand isn't quite creepy enough - perhaps a slightly blue tint to the picture might have enhanced the "is it dead?" kind of theme? otherwise, great take on the challenge - 9.
