I think the graininess, crop, freckles, they all work well together- voting public be damned!

This is such a clean youthful looking face - just delightful!

this is really easy to do, although not legal in basic. i do a duplicate layer, and do a high pass filter on it, blending option soft light. do a layer mask, and just have the eyes show through. this sharpens and slightly darkens the eyes. i do another layer and set it to screen in the blending options, using the same layer mask pattern. i usually set the opacity of the screen layer a bit lower, or it looks a little freaky...

I liked this one so much during the voting, maybe it's the freckles..just wish they had come out stronger and with more contrast..nice focus in the eye..

Gave an 8. Incredible it didn't score higher. Very cute girl, she doesn't seem so young.

Great potential but too flat/low contrast for my taste.

I like the concept of this and find it a pleasing 7 worth picture. Would score it higher if there was more light on the face/eyes.

I like the composition, but the overall tone seems a bit "flat".
A minor bump in contrast maybe?
OK, I saved it and took it into Photoshop to see what I think it needs.
Image, Adjustments, Levels, Options, 0.5 clip set in shadows and highlights (my defaults), OK, then Edit, Fade, fade to taste, but not below 50%. (60-70% looks pretty decent to me)

very interesting crop. id like the eye in better focus but the rest is great. 7

Great idea and composition. The skin tone of the subject seems a bit grainy and you may want a tad more contrast.

I love the lighting on this -- and her natural pretty smile. I realy like the freckles too. There's something so fresh about her.

seems a bit noisy and or too much neat image. at thsi close seems like it should ahve more skin textures and details. nice expression.

Quite a dull (in terms of tones) image. Contrasts could be bumped quite a bit.
