The photo was actually in focus but I added the blur to reflect the actual scene in the movie. It never was really clear, you could make out the date then it blurred almost immediately. In hindsight I probably shouldn't have done it, or at least reduced the amount significantly. Thanks for the comments. |

I'm not familiar with that one so I can't score on that level. Picture-wise i think this is too tight on the subject to have any significance to the average person or to tell a story. Stepping back might also allow for beter focus. |

Ah, yes, the only scene I remember from that movie! I think the penny could be sharper, though. |

I loved that movie and the penny is the perfect thing to use to condense the whole mood. To get a better score it needs to be in focus and attention paid to the composition. Maybe not such a tight crop. Let the viewer see the whole hand with the penny in one of the rot positions. Maybe something else added from the other time period to contrast how he flipped back to the present time because of seeing the year on the penny. |

The crop on this is interesting, but the color cast and focus makes it a not so interesting shot. |

This seems to be somewhat out of focus. Focusing close-up shots is very tricky. Sometimes it is best to take several images and pick the one with best focus. A little sharpening in a photo editor would have helped but is no substitute for getting good focus in the first place. |

Great idea. The penny needs to be a bit more in focus. |

I've not seen the film, so whether or not it's a good respresentation, who knows? good bit of detail on the coin. |
