 A monarch butterfly atop a thisle flower in a local park. Shot RAW and adjested prior to conversion. Applied USM, cropped, cloned out some distracting elements around the edges, and applied a contrast filter to adjust brightness and contrast.

cute capture, seems even though I have only been through a 1/3 I am getting a lot of similar shots. Not sure what to say about this, the forground bulb is very distracting for me. The flower and butterfly are nice, but the blub drawls my eye. The excape of background aids and hinders this iamge. Maybe a tighter crop as well.

I think I'd prefer if the blurry thistle was out of the shot. Regardless, I still like the composition and the great colours and clarity that you've managed to capture here. Bumping up!

Presentation in this photo is clean and sharp. The butterfly and thistle really pop off the page because of the stark white background. Sharpness of focus shows all the lovely details of the Monarch and the thistle.

The royal thistle is always a grand photographic subject - but add to it a Monarch and you have something unique. Very nice photo.

The colors are very nice. I wonder if you could have cloned out the thistle that hasn't flowered yet? I think that would have improved the photo.

I like the simplicity of this shot, however I find the front bud somewhat distracting. 8 for now and a second look later
