It's my idea of a subjectless image anyway. Who knows what the voters will think, but I at least hope it doesn't take down my average vote recieved.
I took it for an expirement in HDR, and uploaded a version to my portfolio before I decided to put it in the challenge... I hid it there, and hopefully not too many people saw it. This is the -2 exposure.
Editing:
Crop, vertical flip, levels, curves, color balance, hue/sat, USM with a large radius, gaussian blur with 8px radius layer faded to 50-ish percent in Soft Light blend mode on top of that, USM with normal radius, resize, USM again, border. |

OMG ... i'm way over the 5 seconds already .... i'd say i'm already pushing 2 minutes that i've spent looking, and now commenting, on your photograph which i absolutely love ... i love the colours, the shadow, the highlights and the way the rust has become a gorgeous design .... just excellent ...... great photograph and 23 out'v 239 aint bad!!

Critique Club Review:
Nice photo! Focus, color, saturation, hue, exposure, depth of field, and lighting are all excellent. I really like your use of the angle of the light to bring more texture and shape to the subject. I notice you flipped the picture vertical. (Yes I am sitting here twisting my head all around to see it from different angles.) I think the flip did improve the photo. People (western cultures) read left to right & top to bottom, and tend to see pictures the same way. The other way, the light would seem to come from the bottom, which is less "natural".
One thing, already suggested during the challenge, would be to rotate so the seam would be vertical. The seam and associated shadow, would look good in a vertical format. |

Very interesting the color combination with the rust and the worn blue paint. Definitely leaves me wanting to see more of the object. |

This has a really nice abstract feel. I might have been tempted to rotate 90 deg to the right, which I think is upside down? Worked for me both ways up! |
