 A commuters purgatory.

I know this photo has some technical issues (e.g. lack of sharpness and clarity), but I felt that the emotion and "vibe" coming from the people in the shot (and the environment) warranted a submission.

I don't expect this to do well in the challenge, but I hope to get many comments.

Post-processing:
- Original from JPEG
- Noise reduction
- Some sharpening
- B&W conversion (Channel Mixer and Duotones conversion)
- Levels adjustment
- Curves adjustment
- High saturation
- Frame and resize

I thank all those that commented on this shot. This is the kind of shot that I like to produce, flaws and all. This was taken with a point and shoot camera, behind a dirty glass window, on a slowly moving train. I have seen some relatively amazing shots done with a pin-hole camera that had much emotion and character. That was my goal for this shot.

I actually think that bald guy in the white shirt is the subject, but for such a beautiful picture I give you a 7.

I like the range of expressions in the photo, but the flourescent light is glaring and changes the feel for me.

I think this fits the challenge with respect to no subject, but for my taste, it might be more effective with slightly less contrast. The blown highlights in the window and the white shirt in front are a bit distracting. I like the expressions on the crowd very much. Even their postures convey the boredom of waiting, waiting for something.
