Shot just shy of 5am near Edinburgh Airport, i was on my way out of the country and had to stop for this scene. Not much done to this, selective contrast and brightness enhancement to bring out the foreground more while keeping the sky and trees muted. Going for a gentle mood with muted colours, nothing too strong, but will probably do terribly in voting if people decide it's too boring.

But i don't want to make the shot stronger, it's meant to be subtle!

In scotland, it's ALWAYS autumn...

Is this that muted, or is there some desat?

No desat, in fact some selective increase in contrast.

I enjoy how this splits into sections with no overlap, and I like the fog border between two sections. 7

A good subject and a decent composition, but without a lot of contrast and color, I think this would have been a lot better in a deep, high contrast black & white.

I think for this shot to work better more depth of field is needed.

i love the foreground but the sky could really use some color to make it pop more. 6

Nice pastel image. A sense of autumn, but the tree colour says otherwise. I know what you mean though. IMO, yours is a very nice image.

If you want to try this, you could crop the sky about half off and fill it in with that darker grey tone that is behind the trees. I think it would help bring your eye back to the foreground. I love the contrast on this.

Different and nice but should have been cropped much lower for better balance.
