 - Original sock photo converted from RAW
- Opened in PSPX, cropped
- Made duplicate layer
- Made a "Steve Brush" in PSPX using one of his self-portraits at pbase
- brushed him in dup layer
- Worked a bit on contrast and details around the edge of the brushed in Steve
- Worked a bit of colour into Steve's face
- Used clarify
- Flattened image
- Worked on the line (cloned out minor distractions at both ends)
- Used burn tool on sock and edge of face, dodge on face
- Resized, sharpened, ran through noise reducer
- Worked on sock tips (by line), to sharpen them
- Worked some more on Steve, blending in the edges, softening skin, trying to make eyes a bit clearer
- Saved as JPG

Creative and appropriately for the challenge. You did a very good job ncliding the image in the sock. Good clothesline perspective and soft focused background works well. The sepia image in the sock fits perfectly. Nice bokeh.
Though I was able to wash my socks while missing they were REALLY rank and not nearly as nice looking as the ones you captured here. The last place I would want to be is inside them. :) Makes a great picture, though. - Steve

Even though you did a good job with the brush (and I wish I knew how to do that so well!), I think I'd like this better without Steve - it would still work, thanks to your title. I have nothing against Steve brushes in this challenge. It's just that I think it looks a little too fakey - even though I understand that's what you were going for. I love the image otherwise! It's a good comp and nice bokeh to boot :-)
