 Bald Eagle at the Oregon Zoo
No, I had no idea that DrAchoo would be submitting a photo of this same Eagle from the Oregon Zoo for a challenge previous to this Free Study as I submitted this photo several weeks ago in mid August. Still, I really enjoyed DrAchoo's 4th place finish with the Icon of USA, Mr. Bald Eagle, and hope this icon of Freedom will soar high in this upcoming Free Study.

Great picture, composition and exposure, but it seems like there was a bit too much smoothing. Much of the detail has been lost in the feathers.

don't really care for the softness of the feathers. doesn't seem natural to me, very Illustrated feel. Doesn't work for me for a photo contest.

Not fond of the processing, looks like you lost a lot of detail in the feathers by overdoing the neat image or softening. If it were sharper and had more detail it would be a much better photo.

Too much image softening used here. Gives the whole image a very "plasticky" feel.

well composed and great timing but I think noise reducing SW took away all the great texture.

Love the sharpness on the eyes. With the slightly blown out highlights in a few areas some feather detail is lost, but all in all, it's an incredible shot.

would be better without the white pole thingy in the background where it is kinda draw you off the eagles white head, great shot other wise, im just being picky !!!

Very stunning close-up of the bald eagle. Colors are bold and vibrant. Composition is excellent...love how one can see all the details in the feathers. Excellent capture.

Alll the feather detail has gone. I have to say I like sharp detailed nature shots and this just doesn't do anything for me. Sorry.
