The reflection of the trees in the lake adds interest to the composition. Muted color fits the background fog. Placing the gap near the left side rule of thirds line works well for this image. Unsure how well the white border works but it might just be me, I'm not much on borders.
Btw... while lost in the HOT Sonoran desert I actually did see some fog after an intense distant monsoon storm. It is so hot there that after heavy daylight rains fast evaporation can briefly create fog over parched desert mountains. Oh... places like this is where I dreamed of being! LOL - Steve |

| This is a beautiful shot. However, on a dark monitor (which I'm stuck with at work) it's pretty much impossible to see Steve's image. While voters should be using calibrated monitors, I think the very subtle nature of its placement may sway some voters lower. Despite that fact though, I think this is a great shot and is very serene. I think you also could have used a shot like this in the Zen challenge. :) |
