 The young Lady in the picture is all of twelve hours old.I took several shots when her mother was Eight months along and promised to take a few shortly after she was born.

Some people are close-minded about nudes, some people are close-minded about digital art, and some people are close-minded about photos including infants. This is definitely the best shot in the challenge. I fear you lost points for depicting a baby. Should have ribboned.

Now on first sight I thought this was Granny holding the Newborn's hand - but no - on closer inspection the small hand is fully formed and the nails possibly manicured (the varnish on the older hand could have been improved). Good try, but tacky.

I didn't vote on this challenge, but I did look at all the pictures, and this is hands down (pardon the pun) the best of the lot. Compositionally I think you nailed it - nice crop, great lines, nice DOF. I think technically it could be improved a little - diffused light would eliminate the hot spots of the baby's fingernails, and the reds seem a little overdone, accounting for some of the grain. Really all it needed was better lighting, but giventhe subject I can see how that might be difficult. I'd give it a 9, and I don't give many of those.

Nice idea. Bit too much magenta and the focus is a bit soft. Still this is an appealing shot. Congrats.
