 From 2 miles away, shot with the 400mm after carefully calculating when the sun would set behind the capitol dome. For the two days following this shot, the sun passed directly behind the dome. I had tickets to see a James Taylor concert the first one and the second one was clouded out. D'oh! Almost no post processing in this. All the sky tones are as-is from the RAW file. A touch of USM to make the edges crisp.

Yup... just like the image I shared, a 400mm lens makes the sun look huge! Love deep black silhouette contrasting the color, and also the bird in the sky is icing on the cake.

Feels too centered for me. Not knowing what was around the building I don't know if you could have shot it another way, but I just want to be further away I guess. But 6
