 I think I'm headed for middle-five territory at best, but I want to enter something into a challenge for my last week of summer. I had a horrible time deciding between this shot and an uncropped version. I finally just went with this one, I don't really know why. The uncropped picture is in my portfolio.

Joking aside, it's a great shot. I guess it's some kind of egret. The (white) ones around here are pretty camera-shy; you must have used quite a long lens, eh.

Great detail in the feathers. I may have left a little more room on the left of the picture, but that is just imo. Good luck.

I really like how his eye matches the color tones of the background. Did you research the breed of heron? I'm just curious.
