 A rattlesnake, taken while hiking in the Sabino Canyon in Arizona.

I didn't know how stupid I was until later when I described to the park rangers how close I got and how aggressive the snake was.

Great composition, but this could probably do with a little more contrast to make the snake's head stand out a little more?

Looks like you shot it through glass...if it looked like you were in danger...it would have been a 10

Love the idea. Background, though, seems to take away from the detail of the snake. Need to be sharper on the snake.

doesnt really suggest stupid... maybe put an invisible piece of glass in front of the snake and your hand on the other side looking like your gonna pet the thing...

What I like: great curvy-feel, love the texture

What I don't like: His face seems soft, a longer DOF would have been helpful IMO

without the title, it's merely becomes a nice picture of a snake, so i'm not sure it really fits the challenge aggressively enough. i think something like a pudgy fingers dipped in chocolate in the shot might have enhanced its stupidity quotient. as a snake picture, it's pretty good, with a nice mix of greys and the cute sticking out tongue. 5.
