This is a nice picture that has a lot going for it. Very much an emotive feel as it evokes thoughts of past BBQs with the family. The setup on the BBQ is great and the composition of the rest of the image looks perfect. The thing that caused me to rate this at an average 5 was the lighting and focus. The focus looks like it might be pretty good in some areas, but with the very low light, its hard to see the definition in the many subjects available for the eye to investigate. I don't know if using the "bright" option in the bright/contrast of whatever post processing program you have would have helped or created other issues, but the low light definitely mutes the colors and focus of this. Had it been brighter (sunnier too maybe?) I could easily see it as a good stock photo too. As is, I did give a 5 |

I can't see the fire! I know where it is but I think for this challenge you need to show fire itself |

I'd liek to see some actual fire here and maybe a less overcast day but with soem flames "kissing" the food it would be a lot cooler. |

really like the idea but for this to work for me I would like to have seen some flames on the BBQ (MHO) |

It may be a grill, but there's no fire to be seen, not even any smoke. The lighting is dark due to the weather and the photo is rather flat. |

Made me hungry, but I don't really see the fire. |

Well first off the image is to dark and very flat. I get the idea. I also get the implication (with or without the title). However I see no fire. This is the fire challenge. Fire is hard to capture in a cool way that is what makes this challenge hard and fun. But you have no fire. 3

The food looks good. IMO I would have liked to see the gas burning or something of the like. The picutre also looks dull color wise. |

Composition is good - I especially like the perspective. But of course it would have been a better fit for this challenge if there had been flames showing. Some contrast or color adjustments may have helped bring this shot to life. I don't think this is a bad photo, just one that could have used a little extra to impress. |

Good photo of the bbq and and view, but I do not see any fire, which you may take a hit for. A flame or two coming from the grill could have avoided that. |

I see the idea, but I don't see any flame. It also looks like a wet rainy day, which takes the edge off. |

I don't really see any fire...
Maybe my monitor isn't calibrated, but this shot looks far to dark to me. The details in the grill are lost in the shadows. Photo also doesn't look that sharp to me, and the background isn't interesting enough to add anything to the shot. |

Bit flat perhaps? A bit of extra lightening in PP (or increased exposure in camera) would have brought out the colours a bit more - (JMO) |

OK...how can I help you here? a terrible exposure, more like a snapshot that a well thought out photo...perhaps if you got in close to the meat when there was a flare up it would have made a good shot, but as it is, it might as well have been a shot taken on your cellphone...sorry :-( |

It's helpful if you turn the gas on and light the dang thing. ;-) |
