Great use of B&W. I like the train and parkway heading off beyond our view and the skyline in the background.

I can't put my finger on it, but this works 4 me. The lines, the clarity, hmmm

i have already given this a ten, reason being that it's visually quite stirring and creatively unique in that you're showing a city infrastructure rather than a singular vehicle. the terms "lifeblood" and "a living, breathing, artery" comes to mind. my only slight reservation is the inclusion of the skyline at the back; i admit it's nice, but i think it would feel more claustrophobic and bustly if you cropped just below the skyscrapers (which also give a city an identity, which i think makes the generic term Down Town less effective). but really, it still deserves the ten. the b&w is stylishly gritty and urban, the vanishing point nature of the lines of the road and tracks are very visually pleasing, the damp and slightly reflective surfaces add another good dimension. and given the noir-ish nature of elevated trains, i don't find this remotely grim; it's a hopeful image, and one showing a city working. i love it; it's stimulating, evocative, and also deceptively simple.

Nice composition - should have made the picture larger, as there is alot of detail in the photo.
