This was left to the very last minute. I was toying with the idea of cutting up a CD and using that in the Bits and Pieces challenge. But it never really got me going.
So then yesterday I look out the window and see the seagulls, 600km's (slightly < 400miles) from the nearest sea, following my tractor through the fields.
I setup shop with my 75-300 mm lens and snapped away.
I tried to frame the shots with the tractor in view, but it just wasn't happening.
Then this kindly seagull came along and graced me with my best action photo yet, of a bird in flight.
In spite of a sticky shutter button, my lens (not the white lens variety - sigh***) amazed me with its responsiveness.
I'm just LUVVING my camera!

Technicals:
-RAW image processed in C1 Pro - didn't feel like the hassle of waiting for Lightroom!! Adobe pls take note !@%$! - with extra shadow tone curve and soft sharpening.
-JPEG image prcessed in CS2 with selective colour adjustment layer, cropping to square, resize and add border.

That's it!

Nice photo of a bird landing. Could use a little more action in my opinion. The whites on the birds are washed out and the darks have lost their detail. I'd try shooting this at a different time in the day when you can control the exposure more.

IMHO the flying bird looks awsome, but the ones on earth make you loose a lot of the action cause they are just distracting. Maybe a tight crop would have worked better for me ;)
