 I don't actually drink coffee, but I thought most people collect their thoughts and prepare for their days over a cup.
Worked raw three times, once for shadow on left, once for coffee, once for white areas, curves, NI, curves USM. cloned out a couple spots and dodged some on the top right. Lightly burned over shadows on cupholder. Resize, save for the Web. Shot with indirect light from a window, some light from an open door and a 500 watt light that I aimed at the ceiling which was at an angle.

This is my idea of Zen. My "zen" requires a functioning brain which this cup of dark coffee provides. The only thing I would point out is the shadows in the coffee cup and on the table. Some lighting or editing may have been able to take care of this, but otherwise it's a well executed and creative shot on a difficult challenge.

as mentioned, white lines are somehow melting, but still the concept makes it a perfect zen; i would expect it to end higher

(and i dont drink coffee - in the morning - too :-)

Zen AND B/W in colour! :o) Wish I'd had this idea last week lol Nice composition and I like the choice of saucer as it contrasts with the B/W line :o)
