 Finally got some decent hummingbird shots! Took me long enough - I've been trying for months... HA Not sure how well this will be received, but suspect it will receive some DNMCs. For me, there's a great deal of "zen" packed into this image - harmony with nature, the quiet hum of the birds, sitting and watching the hummers for hours on end, the dance they perform, the delicate balance of life on this big rock we call Earth,...

PP included: levels/curves, selective semi-transparent gradient color fill on background, selective semi-transparent layer of feeder glass, transparency brush, dodge/burn brush, color sat, contrast, Neat Image, add border, save for Web.

Hey Jimmy I see you have the 350D Rebel now, wonderful shot, I gave it a 9 and really thought it would finish higher, definitely one of the underrated shots in this challenge.

Ohmygoodness, Jimmy!! I didn't see this in the challenge, but what in the world were they thinking giving this a 5.9!!! I have been trying forever to get a good hummingbird shot and this one is exceptional!!! There is NO blur, and the detail in his feathers is amazing.

I protest. . . .this should be 6.9 or nothing :)

There were a few underrated shots in this challenge, this was definitely one of them SJ...I gave this a 9 and cannot believe it didn't finish at least top 20

Great shot. Did you think about cloning or blending out out whatever that is in the upper left part of the frame? Nice capture.

would have been a GREAT shot if perhaps you could have cropped it more to the right than to the left (would have removed the distracting branch thing on the left too) ... though I must say the colours here are amazing ... 8

Wow excellent timing. The only problem I see IMHO is that it seems as if about to go out of frame, of course I understand the subject is not really posing lol but I would have tried a different cropping.

It's a remarkable capture - but the framing is a little odd. No flower and too much to the back of the bird. I would have been incined to crop much of the background out.

this is absolutely stunning...wow! I am going to give this a 9 and not 10 for only one reason...the branch in the background could have been blurred out a little under the advanced rules and this is what I would have done...it competes with the bird for attention...just my upinion...excellent shot
