 Post challenge: This is my sister who I also used in the gold challenge. I had so little time to get this in, about two minutes before closing I had no time to put any notes. I only had about 40 minutes total to do this whole thing, and this was the best shot but the eye isn't the center of focus and I didn't even notice the distracting background thing until the first comment. I also took out the catch lights in her eye because I didn't know how much people wanted to see them and I thought they were distracting, oops. For lighting, I used a 500 watt halogen lamp on a paint ladder, bouncing the light off foamcore above her left eye. Yeah Im that highclass, hahaha.

An unfair comparision.. but I was trying to link this shot to the National Geographic shot...

For an ethnic shot like this, I personnally would prefer a really harsh constrast and not a soft feel ..

If you could have included a little of the scarf at the forehead, it'll bring out the eyes more...

Still a good shot for me.. 7 for score.. :)

I really like the composition and mystery here. The scarf and background color match spot-on. It would be interesting to see the model's eye match a bit more.

Something about her eyes kind of bothering me but I can't point at what it is..
Their color is beautiful, though.

wonderful picture . I love the reflections of green which apears on the face of the girl. The focus zone is perfect chosen and the DOF adds drama to the image.

focus is a bit too soft. lack of catch lights in the eye makes this image flat

the light is a bit flat and focus is a tad soft, but it's a lovely shot...I'd try bumping up contrast and applying just a bit more sharpening next time. -6
