I think of all the bug shots I like this one the best. I love that it is not green. Fantastic detail on the grasshopper and the plant that he is sitting on gives a great contrast of curves against the lines of the bug. Really well done. Bumping up - one of my top picks of this challenge. Back one more time to give you one more bump. Good luck tonight!

| This is my favorite macro shot in this challenge (okay, I admit, I didn't look at all of them close-up--there were just too many), and one of my favorites ever. I like the steely look of the exoskeleton and the mirrored sharp, slicing look of the plant. Very intense with a lot of interest for the eye. Beautiful lighting and DOF. Best of luck! |

| This is a really cool picture. However, if it was truely adjusted to monochorme I don't think it meets the challenge criteria. All pictures in the challenge could have been adjusted to monochrome. If I misunderstood, your titla and the grasshopper is actually the same color as the background and vegetation, my appologies. I still gave you a 6 because I do like the picture. It's well composed, good lighting, and an interesting subject matter. |
