Thanks for all the comments everyone. I too would have liked to crop this one in more but it was already cropped as much as I could. The shot was taken at full zoom and the ship was quite far away. One of you commented it was a bit grainy or blurry. It would have been more so if I had cropped in even more so itt was a bit of a trade off.
Now, as for the object in the distance on the right, it is another sailboat on the horizon. I intentionally didn't crop it out in order to add more dynamics to the shot and to draw the viewer in and captive his/her attention. Some of you didn't like the fact you couldn't quit make it out. But like it or not, it caught all of your attention and made you concentrate and focus on the image. It held your attention, perhaps for just a second, but it held it and made you wonder. And that, my friends, is the whole purpose of art.

| OOOooh, a gaff rigged....ketch? No this is bigger. I'm not sure but I love ships with more than one mast. Love the open sea too, this presents mucho possibilities about where you are going, where you came from...great. |

| THis certainly gives me the feeling as if I'm looking at an old photgraph, sans rips, tears and creases. Would have liked to see the object sticking out of the water on the right clipped out. |

| I'm a sucker for a gaff rigged schooner. I think a closer crop would be better. Right to left adds movement. |
