I love the grain and the overexposed rectangles. 100 people are going to score you lower for this, but I am going to score you higher. Feel better? ;) the cat is wonderfully expressive, and the composition fits her perfectly into her geometry. 8

The focus is a little soft, but it fits in well with the noisy, high-contrast look.

Did you take it in color initially? The tones seem to suggest that this isn't a color picture.

It'd good to show how you did it in your comments (maybe you already did, of course, since I can't see them during voting).

Was this really taken in colour? I really like the image.

I like the lighting on the cats head, but from there I tend to lose focus on the chair. Almost a flared lighting around the cats right side.

I like this photo. I'm partial to kitty kats anyways. Good luck.

Hey - I knew I missed a shot in between opening day and when I voted. I am guessing you were revived from the DQ bin. To be honest I thought this was gonna go that route because of the lack of color in the cats eyes. Makes one think that it was a desat job. But since it has returned you must have gotten by on your editing. That said - I am not quite sure what to think about the processing. Look slike you added film grain maybe to take away from the softness of the shot. The high contrast at first seemed too much but as I sit and go back and look at it again and again I seem to enjoy the pic more. I really like cat pics in the first place and thi sone is growing on me. I hope the time away from voters hasnt hurt you too much. Good luck!

Wow, how did you take this in color to be SO B&W?

This appears to be a black and white image, not a color one. Maybe I'm wrong, cause I really like it.
