this is my sister. I have a backgammon board, coudln't find a briefcase to work, with a piece of foamcore inside it with a 500 watt lamp facing the foamcore. I also have a lamp on the outside to give some light to the board. I had nothing gold to actually shoot, Lol.
Shot with raw, converted it three times, once for the body once for the board, and once for the wall. Cloned and healed out a stray hair across the face, some marks on the board, alittle piece of a guitar hanging on the wall and a piece of tape on the wall smoothed out skin with gaussian blur, 3 curves, Neatimaged backgammon board layer and very lightly over the over all image.

I gave this a six ... I am surprised at the final score ... I thought out of the people shots this was one of the better concepts behind the picture.

I agree that this is under-rated. I gave this a 6, which is (for comparison) the same as I rated place #7. To me, it was obvious that a lot of work was put into this entry and that it met the challenge. The reasons I didn't rate it higher are because the effect might have been a little too subtle. Had her hair been blowing backwards even more, facial expression showing some surprise, and light more dramatic, I would've given this a 9 or 10. But how on earth you ended up way back here in place 251 is beyond me! This was a really good entry.

you know I usually don't comment on underateds, but this was amazingly so. Takes thought and as kiwiness said, a healthy dose of cinematic knowledge (but that isn't a must to enjoy it).

I gave you a 7... her face is expressionless and you can barely see her eyes which is a disappointment here. However it is perfectly lit and an interesting idea, thus the 7 :0)

this shot is SO underrated, it is not even funny. Great idea, and well executed. The only thing I'd have changed is to use a different color of the background, so the golden glow on the person stands out more.

I like the concept but I think more light coming out would have a more drastic effect.
