Linda,
Thanks for your comment on my Beach entry, i thought I would give you a comment back. The color and lines are nice and done well and I like the angle. The problem I could see from voters perspective is that you have no beach in your shot, just sand and the challenge was really to shoot by the water, not a beach, so I had scored this a five and I think alot of others may have thought the same and voted similarly. Hi Linda...this is the comment you made for my shot which was actually taken at the beach and has water for all of its background:
Great job! I loved the tonal aspect to this whole photograph, with the greys being predominant in the foreground and background, allowing the bird to blend in and stand out at the same time. The clarity in the bird is awesome. I'm not giving this as high as I'd like to because this could equally be on a city street as a beach, so in my opinion, it does not clearly meet the challenge, although I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt. I don't think that meeting the theme of the challenge should be left to guesswork, there should be some element in the photo to at least hint of the theme, and this one doesn't. Other than that, I'm giving it a 7 because it is still a nice shot!
I am now looking at your shot and wonder how you come up with your comments. I think that there's going to be an avalanche of pm's coming your way from some disgruntled dpcers who may not agree with your comments or your 'hidden during voting' 'great shot' comments...
I appreciate that you gave me the benefit of the doubt and a 7 in any case |
