Challenge: Abstract Food (Advanced Editing IV)
Camera: Nikon D50
Lens: Tamron SP AF 90mm f/2.8 Di for Nikon
Location: My Driveway

Aperture: F/6.3
ISO: 200

shot outside. I used 2 lowel flood lights (with blue gels) 2 nikon sb-600's (with grey and blue gels) set as slaves to onboard flash. blue foil paper backdrop, remote button and a tri-pod

stood half way between camera and back drop, poured popcorn from above and took shot with remote button,

the distance from lens to backdrop was aprox 5 feet. wind was blowing so the back drop wiggled a bit, which produced a wave effect.

Post Process. Photoshop, converted from raw, slight crop, cloned out couple of small imperfections, adjusted contrast , levels , highlight and shadows, reduced noise, sharpened , framed, reduced size, adjusted brightness, slightly sharpened again, saved as jpeg.

thanks for the comments. i am never sure what to say is abstract and what is not. so it was a task to do this challenge. it was also a mess.

OOF throughout. Abstract food would indicate that I would not recognize the food immediately. I dont think this meets the criteria for abstract. I do like that there is depth between the popcorn and background, and the background color works well for this idea.

Nice job of creating "floating" popcorn. It would be nice to see more in focus.

Nice idea, I may have liked to see more DOF to have more of the popcorn in focus.

nice action and blurry background, there's none of the popcorns that looks perfect sharp, would've liked to see that

Now this is really cool. It reminds me of those pictures that you turn at different angles to get different views of it.
