The texture on this photo is excellent. I think this image could use more depth of field... the background in the upper right is ok as it is, but I think the scales in the foreground are a little distracting being that far out of focus. = 6 - jmsetzler

Snakes are of great interest to me, and I love the texture of their skin. Too bad you cant show in a photo how they can absorb heat from your body, which in turn seems to change the very texture of their skin.

Nice shot...although I'd like to see the skin filling up the whole shot instead of leaving that white space in the upper right corner. I still like it though.

I think there is too much out of focus. A tighter crop and a horizontal format would have the reduced the amount of blurred image.

Very interesting picture. My eye is a little disturbed by the white in the background, and it would have been nice if you could have carried the depth of field a little further back.

probably cookd have use a greater depth of field. the coil of snake that moves into blur is destracting, especially with the over highlited areas in that blur.

Its not easy photographing round objects close up.
