this is actually a granny smith apple and a lemon. i adjusted the colors with selective colors and hue saturation (i think i used that one) and then curves and levels. i burned a bit to bring out the shadows more... and neat imaged.

This was actually one of my favorites of the challenge. I don't understand the score. Excellent work.

I think it's because dpc hates OOF, even if it's abstract. I gave you a 6, which may not seem that high but it's the same score I gave the red and yellow ribbon winners. 6 is generally my score for a good, competent shot that meets the challenge.

thanks to all of you who voted and commented... i have to agree with oOWonderBreadOo... i think it was way underrated, too, but i am biased. i don't know why dpc would have an abstract challenge if people can't accept "abstract."

This definitely an abstract image reminds me of Nshapiro's style but lacks the vibrance of the colors. I believe this might suffer from being too abstract for most of DPCs tastes.

This reminds me the art of Rothko. Congratulation for the approach in this photograph. You have courage! Best luck... 8

Abstract as I perceive abstract? Yes
Do I like it? Yeah, kinda!
Technicals? I think I'd like to see it with a bit more light on the top apple, or perhaps the top apple just a little less soft, but still not focused.

Awesome abstract! It's a very nice study of colors. Definitely something that I could see framed on a wall. 10

Best abstract in the challenge. Admittedly there are only about 30 other actual abstracts in it, but nontheless - 10

Nice. I like the interplay of colors here, which is what I think the photo is all about. The soft focus really pulls the effect off well. 9
