Took a ton of different shots for this challenge - spider webs, railroad tracks, my kid in striped shirts and shorts. All mediocre at best. This was the best of the mediocre. The title refers to the fact that they dont really make vinyl albums anymore. I had to dig through our crawl space for this puppy. This isnt a WPL entry for us this week, so if this crashes and burns I am cool with it. Just wanted an entry.

PP - crop, levels, color saturation and lighting on all individual rainbow colors, brightness/contrast adjustment, USM, border, resize for web.

Great album. I like everything about this picture except the rainbow stripe. While lines is the theme, I think the unity of lines in the album was enough to carry this shot...it almost looks like you were unsure people would accept the lines in the album and on the label so you added a rainbow to satisfy the DNMC crowd. Without the rainbow you get simplicity and harmonious color tones. IMHO this photo is about the album; the rainbow competes for attention. Other than that, I think this is a terrific shot...and I would have scored this higher than most people did.

Nice choice of albums and nicely done. Something that I think could have made this better is if the cone of light at the top had led into the rainbow.

I gave this one a bonus point for excellent subject choice. An all time great album. :-) It's an average picture, but well-executed for what it is, if that makes sense.

Read through the comments - got a kick out of the one that refers to it as a "disc".

Didn't one of the band members recently pass? Hence the title? The triangle against the circle is effective. Nice colour.

Creative idea - and I like the composition. Good lighting and exposure. I think the rainbow detracts from the image myself - would have been better without it

Nice crisp capture.
I like the definition of lines between each song on the disc, and I like the added splash of color in the background.

classic album! extra votes for the choice, well done...THE GREAT GIG IN THE SKY is the best song on the album, moving and powerful
