Challenge: Perspective III (Basic Editing III)

The location is the Wilder Kaiser mountain range in Austria. A friend and I mountain biked from my fiancees family farm as far as we could and then trekked up to one of the peaks called Sonneck. Pretty scary stuff, there was a 500m drop off on the other side of the ridge! Great climb though and the views were stunning. A long day we though, started at 09:30 and finished at 17:30, just needed to add a swim and it would have been my first triathlon!

I am going to have to find a way of taking my Canon 20D on the bike safely. Anyone got any suggestions....? keeping the camera safe on some serious mountain bike routes?

Instead I took this picture with my friends camera (the Nikon in my list) and edited when I returned to England.

I used adjustment layers for the first time, so I could tweak the image as I went along, other than that a slight rotate then resize, NN, USM and SFW.

Almost didn't catch the bird sitting there. A great perspective! Beautiful!

Lovely vantage point. Exciting and forever receding. Bump.

7 - Nice capture - difficult with the inclusion of the bird as is, but the perspective even sharper/unusual, make this even better for this Challenge in my opinion.

Unlike many other pictures in this challenge, the title is actually reflected in the picture. This is, indeed, what a bird sees.

nice but seems a little too cropped/sharpened... it lost some detail in the transition

Beautiful landscape. :) The bird is a bit hidden by the shadow of the rock; maybe some curve, contrast, saturation or other adjustment could strengthen this photo and pull the bird out of the shadows as well.

Great view and well composted. Colors seem a little washed out though.

I wish the light wasn't so harsh

Really cool pov. Wish the bird stood out more, litle more contrast overall and (to my eyes) a bit oversharp. Still a great perspective shot. Nice job.
