This was taken with a blue backlight placed under the ice. I cooled the cockroach in ice to slow it down. I revived it several times to get the picture. It never did wear out but it sure was glad to be put in my neighbor's yard. I picked a shot that left him a little obscure because who really wants to look at one of these anyway?

I love the ice in this photo. The blue color is exceptional. There is great contrast. This bug is sure dark, by nature, huh? Great job. I'm bumping you up a number on second review! Good luck...

Very interesting composition! My only comment is that I wish there was more contrast / texture detail on the bug.

Great composition and use of humor. I like the blue, but teh insect is a little dark.

I really like the blueish ice. It makes the dark bug standout more. Nice placement. Is he frozen on to that?

lol very good humor...love the blue color also. IT really adds to the shot. Neat.

Hope the bug didn't get frostbite. Interesting idea, but the bright ice means the bug has turned out a bit too dark. I like the blue.
