 This was a young praying mantis that I found on the wall in my house. I thought he wouldn't mind becoming the subject of a photograph before I let him go in my garden. He became quite attached to me. I placed him in several locations to take pictures and each time I was finished he gladly hopped back onto my hand for a trip to the next place. I ultimately allowed him to make his new home in my vegatable garden where I knew he would find an ample supply of insects to eat.
This picture was cropped, levels and curves,sharpened, and Neat Image was used.

5 - Nice macro, nice colors. Like the seemingly high saturation. Difficult, but for this Challenge, like to have seen a more unusual perspective used.

The eye of this bug drew me into your photo. The green against the purple background made it jump out at you. Very nice work.

The DOF is a little too shallow. It ends up focusing all of my attention on the head, while the entire body fades into the background.

It doesn't "recede" into the background, but rather becomes part of the flat background, so perspective disappears.

That said, simply as a random picture, I'd love to see this cropped tightly to the head and brightened up a bit. It looks like you captured very nice details on the head.

Very awesome! I love the splashes of that hot pink. It looks like hot pink light! Can't see any flaws with it whatsoever! 10

Great colors in this, very bright. Good use of DOF in this macro. The composition on this seems a bit static though.

This stands a good chance to ribbon and rightfully so. The colors are captivating and the angles in the background keep drawing my attention back to the wonderful detail in the eyes.

Lovely vibrant green and purple. Focus is spot on. His legs make it almost abstract. I'm not a huge fan of insect shots, but this one has something special;)
